TRUMP ANNOUNCES KHAMENEI WAS KILLED, URGES IRGC TO STOP FIGHTING

United States President Donald Trump declared late on February 28 that Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei had been killed earlier in the day in one of the joint American and Israeli strikes against the Islamic Republic, which he says will continue “uninterrupted” throughout the week or as long as necessary until peace is secured.

“Khamenei, one of the most evil people in History, is dead,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Trump said that Khamenei’s death is “not only justice for the people of Iran, but for all great Americans, and those people from many countries throughout the world [who] have been killed or mutilated by [him] and his gang of bloodthirsty THUGS.”

Khamenei “was unable to avoid our intelligence and highly sophisticated tracking systems and, working closely with Israel, there was not a thing he, or the other leaders [who] have been killed along with him, could do,” Trump wrote.

“This is the single greatest chance for the Iranian people to take back their country. We are hearing that many of their [Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps], military, and other security and police forces, no longer want to fight, and are looking for immunity from us,” he added.

Trump went on to call on all Iranian government forces to  quickly surrender in exchange for immunity or face imminent death.

“Hopefully, the IRGC (Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps) and police will peacefully merge with the Iranian patriots and work together as a unit to bring back the country to the greatness it deserves,” Trump said.

“That process should soon be starting in that, not only the death of Khamenei but the country has been, in only one day, very much destroyed and, even, obliterated,” he claimed.

“The heavy and pinpoint bombing, however, will continue, uninterrupted throughout the week or, as long as necessary to achieve our objective of PEACE THROUGHOUT THE MIDDLE EAST AND, INDEED, THE WORLD!” Trump concluded.

Trump’s announcement came right after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a video statement that there were signs that Khamenei is “no more.” Hebrew media reports that followed said that Netanyahu and Trump were shown an image of the body of Khamenei, after it was recovered by Iranian authorities from his compound in the Iranian capital, Tehran.

There is still no confirmation from Iran and a tweet is posted from Khamenei’s X account purports to demonstrate that the supreme leader is still alive.

Ali Khamenei — born April 19, 1939, in Mashhad — rose from a modest clerical family and became a key figure in Iran’s 1979 Islamic Revolution as a close ally of Ayatollah Khomeini; he served as President from 1981 to 1989 — surviving an assassination attempt that paralyzed his right arm —before succeeding Khomeini as Supreme Leader.

His long rule shaped Iran’s foreign policy, nuclear ambitions, and support for regional allies, while facing domestic opposition, international sanctions, and health challenges.

Iran has launched hundreds of missiles and drones at Israel and U.S. bases across the Middle East since the start of the war, and de facto closed the Strait of Hormuz. This shows that the death of Khamenei, if true, had no effect on the Islamic Republic’s command and control chain.
