Iran Captures Another U.S. Submarine Drone in Strait of Hormuz (Video)
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced on September 27 that its naval forces had captured a United States unmanned underwater vehicle operating in the Strait of Hormuz, identifying it as a REMUS 600.
In a statement, the IRGC Navy said the vehicle was seized in a coordinated operation involving intelligence and electronic warfare capabilities and that Iranian specialists were examining it to recover data.
The incident marks the second time this month that Iran has claimed to have taken control of a U.S. unmanned underwater vehicle in the area. On September 8, the IRGC said it had captured an Anduril Dive-LD near the entrance to the strait. Back then, U.S. Central Command acknowledged the loss of an underwater drone, saying it had malfunctioned while supporting operations in regional waters and did not carry classified sonar or radar equipment.

Le Corps des gardiens de la révolution islamique (IRGC) d’Iran a annoncé le 27 septembre que ses forces navales avaient capturé un véhicule sous-marin sans pilote des États-Unis opérant dans le détroit d’Ormuz, l’identifiant comme un REMUS 600.
Dans un communiqué, la marine de l’IRGC a déclaré que le véhicule avait été saisi lors d’une opération coordonnée impliquant des capacités de renseignement et de guerre électronique et que des spécialistes iraniens l’examinaient pour récupérer des données.
L’incident marque la deuxième fois ce mois-ci que l’Iran a affirmé avoir pris le contrôle d’un véhicule sous-marin américain sans pilote dans la région. Le 8 septembre, l’IRGC a déclaré avoir capturé un Anduril Dive-LD près de l’entrée du détroit. À l’époque, le commandement central américain a reconnu la perte d’un drone sous-marin, affirmant qu’il avait mal fonctionné lors de son soutien aux opérations dans les eaux régionales et ne transportait pas d’équipement sonar ou radar classifié.
